MIALUIS is a brand of handmade bags totally Made in Italy, founded by the architect Mariaelena Mallone that in 2010 realized her dream, with passion and effort. The name of the company is a family affair: Mariaelena’s mom, whose name is Marialuisa, thought to put together a part of her name (LUIS) and the tender nickname of her daughter (MIA), creating a new symbolic name, evocative of their own past. Two seasonal collections per year realizing four thousand pieces, all designed by Mariaelena in her lab-atelier inside an ancient building of the beginning of the 20th century, ex domicile of one of the oldest bakery in Turin, at the foot of the enclosing hills. Each Mialuis bag preserves some specific characteristics that connect all styles together like a fil rouge, although they are always the result of an experimentation stimulated by an idea. Each bag of MIALUIS’ collections is the special result of the secret receipt realized ad hoc by a colour master. Sensations of Mariaelena Mallone become a new projects of design: people met, visited places, foods and wines tasted with someone or somewhere, transforming her archive of ideas into something special to be weared. Each bag has got the name of a woman or a man who shared a part of her/himself with the designer . Talent, imagination, creativity and experience create a perfect balance between handcraft and brain: every bag like a unique model born from a name and telling a unique story.
