Azienda Falchi Societa Semplice Agricola

Our company’s roots run deep into our ancient history, dating back to a 1792 document officially recording Sisinnio Falchi as “...farmer and breeder...”, later to also become public notary for the town of Oristano. His son Vincenzo – and many family members thereafter – devoted his life to developing the family business. After him, his son Giovannico - a pioneering entrepreneur who was knighted for his major contributions to the country’s economy - extended the firm’s output from farming proper to the inclusion of industrial processing and food preserves retail. After his passing in 1933, the large firm was handed down to his seven children, and just like nowadays, the honour befell a determined manager, Marietta Falchi, to successfully run the family firm. Following the second world war, the firm’s new generations set their minds on improving and innovating the agricultural practices, introducing new machinery and developing technologies. The real turning point came with Antonio who, armed with a Degree in Agriculture at Pisa in 1952, reformed the firm’s production priorities by shifting them mainly towards rice cultivation. And today, it is Antonio’s daughters, Maura, Elisabetta, Cristina and Paola – together with mamma Rosanna – who carry the family tradition into its sixth generation. With doctor agronomist Elisabetta at the helm, the Azienda Agricola Falchi produces our traditional Italian rice, as well as the innovative coloured and aromatic, non-OGM seeds varieties by R&D SAPISE. Our product is rigorously certified by Ente Nazionale Risi and by CREA, and is grown with the environment at heart. We treat our soil, our air and our water like the vital elements they are. Keeping them intact ensures that we maintain essential ecological functions, to protect and preserve them for our future generations.

Terre Di Zaccanello

Terre di Zaccanello is a family agricultural farm and Relais that stretches for about 10 hectares northeast of Agrigento’s coast, in the county of Racalmuto. The olive grove, from which a fine extra virgin olive oil is produced, dominates the landscape and embraces their boundaries. Every kind of olive cultivated is characterised by a different smell and taste. A unique oil comes from the careful mixture of “Nocellara del Belice”, “Biancolilla”, “Gioconda” and “Bella di Spagna”, combined with constant care of the olive trees. Terre di Zaccanello extra virgin olive Oil comes exclusively from our olive grove, it is cold pressed – as to ensure the highest quality – and it is made using olives carefully selected, harvested manually and fresh pressed. This allows our olive oil to have a very low acidity rate of 0,2%. Terre di Zaccanello extra virgin olive Oil has been admitted to the IGP brand Sicilia, recently recognised by the European Union. We chose a packaging that could honour our mission: enhance the Sicilian territory and the richness of its nature. For this reason, we selected a bottle like a jar: an homage to Pirandello, to his novel and to his birthplace. Each product is handcrafted, so you will never find one identical to another.

Through the simplicity of alchemic winemaking, I invite the consumer to an introspection aimed at stimulating all human physical senses in a simple yet powerful ensemble with the impalpable sphere of thoughts, emotions, memories and feelings. In such wines I seek to resurface the scent of memories and the taste of emotions that contributed to the evolution of the fruit on the plant, and the harmonious interaction with the winemaker in the cellar

From the slopes of a historical hill, once a defensive fortress, now site of the ancient swabian castle of Cosenza, it draws inspiration the entrepreneurial adventure of Rocca Brettia, a family-run winery. Our vineyards kissed by the sun extend over a large hill, at 500, a.s.l. in Donnici Inferiore, close to Cosenza. They are surrounded by the colours of the Mediterranean greenery and protected by secular olive trees, sheltered from the fresh wind of the Sila. Here passion and competence are intertwined with a strong innovative vocation combined with the local tradition, giving life to a wine whose sips tell the deep connection with the territory and the unspoiled charm of nature. We have four hectares cultivated with vines; the type of vines cultivated are: Magliocco , Merlot, Aglianico, Greco Nero, Barbera, Pinot Blanc, Greco Bianco, Montonico Bianco, Chardonnay, Incrocio Manzoni. The entire winemaking process is carried out in our winery, exclusively with grapes from our vineyards.
