Since 1842 the Busatti family has been weaving in the cellars of the Palazzo Morgalanti in Anghiari, Tuscany. The first machineries to card wool are actually dated late 1700 early 1800 when after the French invasion, Napoleonic troops decided to install a production of uniforms in Anghiari for the Grande Armée (Grand Army). To dye them blue they started again cultivating Guado (woad similar to indigo), known since Piero della Francesca times who used it to paint his frescoes. Machineries, originally steam powered, were electrified in the 1930’s by Livio Busatti when the company took its current look and structure. Busatti is still a synonym of quality and tradition, but also of innovation because of a constant search of new designs, colors and models. We can meet any textile home decor and linen request. In addition to our normal production lines, we can customize any request to your specifications. We can make tablecloths, curtains, bath towels, fabric panels and many more in any dimension and shape. We can also create and make exclusive embroideries or a customized unique pattern. Each texture comes from the passion and the unicity of our work which we are always proud to show in our antique workshop in Anghiari. The entire production takes place in the cellar, on owned land, producing still red (Merlot, Cabernet franc) and white wines still and sparkling (like the best one Durello, and Prosecco as well) aged in martinotti or charmat and classic method, and sweets wines too, made with indigenous grapes and named DOC, DOCG and IGT, and, soon we will come out with a sparkling white wine sur lie dedicated to a younger consumer. The grape is still harvested by hand, in large crates, to preserve its integrity until pressed. Year after year, we are working to reduce sulphur in our wines, through the technique of winemaking in reduction. Till now, we have just distributed in the middle-up ho.re.ca. market and private consumers well, in Italy, Balcanic area (Latvia) and North of Europe (Holland) without excluding at all the large distribution, if we get numbers and and cost profit margin to make it sustainable. The white grapes like Pinot grigio Sot Lis Rivis, Chardonnay Siet Vignis and Sauvignon Sottomonte are pressed whole, trying to preserve as much as possible the varietal aromas, then some mature for one year in large wood of 25 Hl and others in steel, but all remain on the lees for a long time. The reds, Merlot Sintesi dei Capitoli and Cabernet, are vinified in the traditional way with long maceration followed by a long aging in small wood. The wines obtained are balanced wines of European taste capable of lasting many years in the bottle, always evolving in a positive way where finesse and elegance are the most present characters.
