OpportunItaly at HKIJS for the promotion of Made in Italy jewellery in Hong Kong
From Italian jewellery districts to the Asian market: OpportunItaly facilitated connections between companies and international buyers during the HKIJS trade fair

From 4 to 8 March, OpportunItaly supported Italian companies in Hong Kong, taking part in the 42nd edition of the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (HKIJS). During the same days, the 12th edition of the Hong Kong International Diamond, Pearl & Gem Show (HKIDGP) was also held, contributing to the promotion of Made in Italy luxury.
The outstanding creations of craftsmen and master goldsmiths, which have made Italian jewellery renowned worldwide, were showcased in the Italian Pavilions. The HKIDGP pavilion covered 180 sqm and hosted 12 companies, while at HKIJS Italy featured the largest pavilion among European participants, a true showcase of excellence hosting 109 exhibitors across an area of 1,035 sqm.
From Arezzo to Marcianise: OpportunItaly promotes Italian territories
In total, around 4,000 exhibitors from across the globe took part in the two exhibitions, confirming Hong Kong as the largest international marketplace for the jewellery sector. The ITA Trade Agency, which promotes OpportunItaly together with MAECI, supported Italian excellence, representing some of the most important jewellery production districts, including Arezzo, Vicenza, Valenza, Torre del Greco and Marcianise, with the latter two standing out for their exceptional performance in the Hong Kong market.
To further enhance the visibility of Made in Italy players, the ITA Office in Hong Kong sent invitations to local industry operators via its mailing list, with the aim of expanding business opportunities for Italian exhibitors by promoting the Italian Pavilion and participating companies.

Hong Kong: the seventh destination for Italian exports
Hong Kong is a highly significant market for the sector, with strong growth in imports, which in 2025 reached USD 141.2 billion (+21.7% compared to 2024). This confirms Hong Kong’s central role as an international trade hub, where opportunities for companies in the sector continue to expand.
In the period January–September 2025, according to Federorafi, Turkey was the leading destination market for Italian jewellery exports, with a value of €1.7 billion, although down 52% compared to the same period in 2024. It was followed by Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the United States, while Hong Kong ranked 7th, with €374 million (equal to 4% of total Italian jewellery exports), preceded by France and Ireland.
According to data from the Hong Kong Census, in 2025 jewellery imports from Italy totalled USD 1.24 billion. The majority of these exports (around 90%) consist of wearable jewellery, confirming the international appreciation for Italian quality and craftsmanship in the jewellery sector.
